Nate's third birthday - Party Part 1

Our second attempt at hosting a small party for Nate, went far better!

Just a week after the original date, we had a few friends over to help celebrate the milestone. Mum & Dad, Chris & Norm (my Aunt and Uncle), Mike (cousin) & Claire and little Sophie, Paul and little Oliver (good friend and work colleague of Robin's), and Amanda & Warner and little Lily-Grace (fellow T9M'ers). Unfortunately Ashley and Ruby (Paul's wife and daughter) were unable to come due to another birthday, as were Leigh & Allie, and kids Addison and Henry. But we were keen to push on and not delay further, as summer is quickly slipping away and we had an outdoor theme planned.

Everything went really well, and our little man seemed to have fun! Having it at home really helped with his anxiety - he coped so well with all the people, makes a big difference when he is confident in his space. Entertaining at home is definitely the trick for him - if only of didn't require us to do the hosting each time!

Here are some shots of the set-up before everyone arrived....

A giant 3 for our big 3 year old!
Table set for the kids!
Outdoor fun equipment to enjoy for the day!

And here are some shots of the little man, completely in his element and enjoying the equipment before his guests arrived...

And once his guests arrived, all the kids seemed to enjoy a bit of climbing and sliding. Nate coped so well, overcame his initial shyness, and even started his 'flirting' with Amanda and Uncle Norm - really lovely to see :-)

Second cousin Sophie seemed to enjoy it too!

Nate and Lily-Grace enjoyed some lawn time and gentle play too....

And Oliver and Nate shared a moment playing with Nate's trains.....

Everyone enjoyed some saveloys, fairy bread, marmite sammies, grapes, carrots, and jelly squares (those bring back memories!).....while the adults settled with ham & a selection of salads & fresh rolls...

You're probably wondering about how excited he got with his cake?! Well check out the next update for more on that....
