Nate's visit to Tui Room

Nate had a wee visit to the Tui Room over the last week, and this marks the start of his transition from the Kea Room. The team at daycare as well as his therapists, feel that that will be most helpful for his development, in terms of social skills, language, and also fine motor skills. Here is the account of his first visit.....

This morning Nate wasn't quite ready for morning tea when the Kea children ate so he joined the Tui room for morning tea! After a few bananas he was ready to explore the Tui room and seemed to love every second of it! Nate investigated a few of our puzzles first and then made his way around the classroom. He spent about ten minutes at our light table, watching our reflections as he repositioned the mirror sitting on top. He then found some of the coloured perspex shapes and invited Charlie to join his play by holding the shapes up to her eyes and then looked at her through the shapes as well. After about half an hour Nate joined the Kea room again but I wonder if he would like to have another visit tomorrow.
